In Khmer speaking Cambodia, the title Lok is used to address a man and Lok Srey for a woman, followed by the first name or both the first and surname. And at Pretati, we have made the perfect Khmer translation app for you to discover the amazing people and culture of Cambodia. Initially, the Khmer Pretati language app may appear as a light, fun and easy way to learn Khmer, which is perfect, we say! With an onboard Khmer Dictionary to offer ‘snap of a finger’ translation, that is exactly what Khmer Pretati has been designed for. To help the traveller, the businessman, the artist, the scholar or the industrialist in you, find the true, spiritual Cambodian connection, simply by learning to speak the Khmer language. Khmer Pretati is an intuitive language translation app utilizing voice and video lessons to help you make quick work of learning the essential and every day used Khmer words and phrases. The Khmer Pretati language app teaches you over 500 important Khmer phrases and words so that when you are riding the Bamboo Train at Battambang or are soul searching at Angkor Wat, you can express your courtesy and awe in nothing but Khmer!

For each such phrase, there is video of a Khmer native speaker clearly pronouncing every word, so that you can grasp and speak the language, as if it was spoken by someone who knew Khmer all their life. For you to have meaningful conversations, the phrases are grouped into categories for the most common travel situations including Getting Around, Eating & Drinking, Health, Problems, Numbers, Time and Date, Meeting People, Shopping and Money. Khmer Pretati, apart from being a traveller’s best friend can also double up as a great learning tool for those who desire to start learning the basics of a foreign language in an easy, fast and fun way.

The app works completely offline so no need to worry about expensive international data costs or wasting time searching for an open WIFI network. Instead while away some time at the Banteay Srei, the mystic citadel of women dedicated to Shiva!

Very useful
Id like to have more words pronounced: family, celebrations, radio/TV context for example
The Best
Im very happy with this app, its the best one Ive found to learn how to speak Khmer. Its very helpful to see the speaker say the words and phrases. There arent many apps available for learning khmer so I have all of them, this one is great.
Just GREAT!
Good app! Its really easy to use and learn Khmer. This is the first app I found to learn the Khmer basics.
Love at first "baby duck"
Leaving for my first trip to Cambodia in just 4 weeks - and this app is a real find! The visual, audio and written words all make this user friendly and a great way to learn the language!
Very helpful, with some reservations
The app is great for learning the pronunciation of basic, useful phrases. I can also see where it would be great as a tool to play out loud to help a Cambodian understand what you are trying to communicate. The favorites section is very handy for storing those phrases that you may need to repetitively use. What I would like to see added is a word translator/lookup. For example: I can find a phrase to say "table for two people, please", but I would like to know which word is the actual word used for "table", or "people". Then I could simply say, "A table, please", or "Two people". Also, it would help me to see the phonetic pronounciation under the phrases. I have been doing this in a notebook for my own use, but it would be tremendously helpful within the program! Thus, when I look up the word for "please", I have written it as "met-tah". Or, for "See you tomorrow?" I have written "Jew-up ken-ee-ah ken-S-eye?" (Ah, that phrase may not be in the program...but you get the idea, I hope!). Anyway, just some thoughts. I am glad I purchased the app, regardless. :)
